Again, it doesn’t look that way on the map above, but if you’re going to Park Guell from Sagrada Familia it’s uphill almost the whole way if you’re walking – so be wary here.

That will feel like more than it is, especially in summer in Barcelona.

If you’re fit and into urban hikes, it’s doable in around 40–45 minutes on foot. Just don’t expect a casual stroll.

💡 Personal tip: I once walked it in late July without water. Rookie mistake. The views were nice, but I would’ve traded them for a bottle of cold agua and a metro ride.

If walking’s not your thing, take the L5 metro from Sagrada Familia to Diagonal, then switch to the L3 and ride up to Lesseps or Vallcarca. From there, it’s still about a 15-minute walk, but at least you’re skipping the steepest part.

Even better? Grab the 92 or 24 bus from near Sagrada Familia. It drops you off much closer to the main entrance of Park Güell and saves your legs the worst of it.

Whatever you do, book your tickets online first for the earliest time slot. You’ll beat the heat and the tour groups and guarantee your spot at an attraction that always sells out
