The spectacle from Messi to the stadium itself isn’t just a dream come true for football fans but a great way to get in touch with Catalan culture.
But to do this you’ve gotta get FC Barcelona tickets first.
Let’s discover all there is to know about how to attend the games, the team’s schedule, and a whole lot of information about Barcelona’s famous stadium Camp Nou.
Barcelona Football Club
Contrary to popular belief the word ‘Barça’ does not refer to the city itself.
This is the nickname used to describe Barcelona FC.
If you’re looking for the nickname of the city then you’ll have to say ‘Barna’ lest you be chewed out by locals or pretentious expats like myself 😛
Barça is the most decorated team of the 21st century and in total counts: 24 Liga championships, 28 Copa del Rey, and 5 Champions League trophies.
Add it all up and we’re talking about one of the most known and loved teams not only in Catalonia but around the world. And one of Barcelona’s top attractions.
The club’s motto is més que un club – “more than a club”.
You’ll feel this immediately as football in the city is really not only a game but a religion, where the Barcelona faithful cheer on Saint Messi and co as they take on the world.
If you want to get on the good side of a local talking about the potency of this team and its long list of stars like Messi, Suarez, and Iniesta is a great way to start.
Sports fan? No Barcelona itinerary is complete without it.
Where to Buy Barcelona FC Tickets
My suggestion is buying tickets in advance through Tiqets.
Not only is it an official ticket resale outlet but it gives you the added convenience of not printing tickets or paying exorbitant prices.
You’ll also get to sit in premium seats behind the goals, the Northern Grandstand (Gol 1, 2, 3), or in the Lateral (1, 2, 3) zones.
Barcelona ticket prices range from about €10.00 for low end Copa del Rey games to up into the thousands for things like El Clasico (against Real Madrid).
FYI: minors 14 and up are able to attend alone however younger visitors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If there is no ticket availability here you can look for alternative agents like the following:
- The Official FC Barcelona website: for the biggest Champions League matches and other La Liga tilts the tickets found here are guaranteed.
- In the FC Barcelona and FCBotigues shops. The official stores of the club are found at the following locations: Camp Nou, Passeig de Gracia 15, and at La Roca Village in La Roca del Vallès (Polígono Industrial Can Massaguer Nord). Other Barcelona shopping destinations recognized as official partners can be found at: Maremàgnum Shopping Centre, Las Arenas Shopping Centre, Plaça Catalunya, Carrer Jaume I 18, Barcelona El Prat airport both T1 and T2, Sants Station and near the Sagrada Familia at Carrer de Mallorca 406.

Things to Know Before Buying
- Only minors 14 and over can attend matches alone: any younger and they will have to attend with a paying adult.
- UEFA rules dictate that foreigners cannot buy tickets for the home team – meaning if you’re going to buy Champions League tickets you will need get them in the visitor’s section or get a VIP/box ticket.
FC Barcelona Schedule and Tickets
The Joan Gamper Cup
Football/soccer lovers will be happy that the sport comes back with a vengeance in August in Barcelona.
The first of Barça’s most important matches of the season is in honour of its founder and former president Hans Gamper. The match involves an invited team from anywhere in the world and the 2019 Gamper Cup guest is the legendary English club Arsenal on August 4th at 8:00 pm.
You may also want to take a tour of Camp Nou stadium to see some of the best sports memorabilia around including Champions League trophies, Messi’s Golden Boots and more.
How to Get to Camp Nou
You’ll find Camp Nou in the Les Corts area at Avenida d’Arístides Maillol 12.
It’s about 8-10 minutes walking from the metro stations Badal (blue line L5), Les Corts (green line L3), and Collblanc (blue line L5 and orange line L9).
You can also reach the grounds with a 20 minute walk from Sants Estacio.

How do we get back to our hotel after the game?
This is one of the most common questions I get asked.
Depending on where you are and how quickly you want to beat the crowd there are a few options:
- If you’ve got yourself an Hola Bcn pass with unlimited transport you’ll be able to grab the metro. The metro is open from Sunday to Thursday until midnight, until 2 am on Friday, and runs all night on Saturday.
- Another option is taking a taxi. Not only is this the easiest way to get to your hotel or Airbnb fast and saves you from long lines at the metro, but with the application Free Now (for either Android or iOS) you’ll get €5.00 off your first ride. It’s also convenient because you’ll be able to pre-book and have a meeting place arranged without the hassle of flagging one down. The cost to most central areas should be about €10.00-€12.00.
- If you’re a bus person then you’ll have bus 50 and 54 as an option before 10 pm. Both depart from outside the Collblanc metro station and will take you back towards Plaça de Catalunya. There’s also the 67 that runs from Maria Cristina metro. After 10 pm you’ll have to get one of the two night buses heading back central: N28 and N2.
Camp Nou Box Office Hours
At Camp Nou stadium there are 5 separate ticket window areas located in the following sections: 7, 9, 14, Gol Nord, and Gol Sud.
Here are the hours for each:
- Section 14: from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday (only game days) from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
- Boulevard Section (access to 7 and 9): from Monday to Saturday in high season from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, in low season from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. On game days it’s open from 11:00 am to the end of the match.
- Gol Nord and Gol Sud: on game days both are open from 11:00 am till the end of the game.
Best Place to Sit at Camp Nou
When any football fan touches down at Camp Nou stadium they’re headed for goose bump territory.
The gigantic 48 meter high, 55 thousand square meter stadium has a capacity of 99,354 which makes it the biggest stadium in Europe!
Since it’s so massive it’s imperative that you find a great spot as sometimes sight-lines can be substandard or even warranting binoculars.
Naturally your position will depend some on your budget, however in general I can say that pretty much anywhere on the second level will offer you a great chance to see Messi and Co get to work.
If you’ve got enough money for level one you’ll see the action up close but keep in mind you won’t have a great view of the entire field.
The Barcelona game tickets sold via Tiqets above are at GOL (1, 2, 3) and LATERAL (1, 2, 3), all offering a great view of the match.

Since times/dates aren't posted in advance and I won't be there on the Saturday, what do you think the chances are of the game being on Saturday? (I think the Copa del Rey semis could potentially be that week so maybe the game would be Sunday...). Does it make sense to buy tickets in advance in case the less expensive ones sell out (- do they usually sell out of the cheaper ones) or should I wait until I know the definite date? At any rate, I am not sure what the ultimate deciding factors are here so I would've said it's 50/50. Looking at it now it looks like it has been scheduled on March 5th. In general for more important games late in the season and against rivals like Valencia I would say too book as far in advance as possible. Hope you enjoy the game!

I am going to be in the city till the 24th of April, and the schedule shows Barca plays Atletico Madrid on 23rd. The tickets are not available right now, I did sign up to be notified though, How expensive would the GOL Nord (1, 2) seats be? Between Nord and Sud, What is your personal preference? Since the match is in April, how long do you think I can wait before I go ahead with the VIP option?

Don't quote me on this but I think Barcelona shoots toward the Gol Sud so I'd prefer getting my tickets there. At any rate, I would be checking back weekly until about February and if the excess tickets aren't let go I'd look into the VIP ones at this time. Cheers,

When should this be confirmed? Our flight arrives in Barcelona at 17:30 on Sat 18th so could be a rush if it is on Sat.

October 5, 2022 at 7:41 pm Team MemberAshHi Marty, In many stadiums I'd say this is feasible, but given you're looking to book fairly last minute and we're talking about the most well attended football team (not to mention a fairly well known opposing team) in Europe I'm going to say it's going to be almost impossible. If you're willing to shell out for the VIP section (about $1000 a ticket) you can definitely find 13, but otherwise it looks like you'll have to play chicken with the official site getting back to you or break up your group into 2 or 3 sections to get the job done. Viagogo for example has some available. The good thing about these resellers is that they have seats in a variety of sections. I would keep refreshing the official page every day (sometimes some are released) until the date gets a little too close for comfort, then pull the trigger on Viagogo. Of course, these tickets do come at a premium... you are warned! Cheers,

There are tickets available on the FC website but there's a little pop up with a flame at the top of the page that says "for FC Barcelona Supporters Only." If we bought a couple, would we be able to get into the game? I am concerned we will waste our money by not being able to get in as foreigners for certain tickets. How do I know for sure the tickets will work for us? I appreciate your assistance!

September 30, 2022 at 4:10 am Team MemberAshHi Jason, First off, I can't be precise here since I'm not sure if you're referring to the tiny town 55 minutes away or the bigger La Pineda near Tarragona which is even further. That said, while there are companies that arrange such things, it's for central Barcelona only. Having private transfer to such a place with tickets would also probably cost hundreds and hundreds of euros. The brutal truth is you're so far out that many taxi drivers may not even feel like doing the long haul. When I was living up near Park Guell, 15 minutes out of the city and up in the hills, the drivers would tell me that they can't take me because there's no guarantee of a fare back. When all is said and done you're probably better off getting a low end hotel near the stadium like Aparthotel. At any rate, please specify where exactly you are and maybe I can take a deeper look... but if it's those two places I think, it's just such an uncommon thing for people without cars, that no service has surfaced to meet your needs. I'm taking my partner away to Barcelona as a surprise trip for his 30th and it coincides with the FC Barcelona vs Bayern Munich Champions League game on 26th October. I know he would go insane if I could get him tickets to see it but all websites 'selling' tickets are deemed not trustworthy by trip advisor and the FC Barcelona website itself says the standard tickets are 'temporarily unavailable' and they only have VIP ones left. Do you know if this means there'll be some more on sale soon? Or should I just accept the VIP price? Thanks! Libby

For many matches it's not uncommon to release some tickets in the week before, but with these games I wouldn't count on it. I've also looked at Seatgeek and Vividseats (two reputable resellers) but also see they have no tickets... I think you'll have to bite the bullet with the VIP ones :( Cheers,

This is not uncommon, though naturally there are way less for the major games so it is a bit of a crap shoot. Beyond this a second hand broker I trust is Viagogo. They often have good stock, and I see they do for El Clasico in March.. just be prepared to pay a massive premium! Cheers,
