The Barcelona Card Express is very similar to the more comprehensive Barcelona Card, but targeted at short-term visitors with a 48-hour window.
That said, there are a few other differences that we need to discuss before you make your purchase.
First off, unlike the other versions of the Barcelona Card, the express version doesn’t include free admission to any Barcelona museums. However, you will still receive unlimited transport, in addition to discounted entry at a variety of attractions.
For a complete list of the card’s advantages, check out the Barcelona Express page at Barcelona Turisme.
Another key difference is the lack of a discounted rate for children.
With the Barcelona Card Express, kids will be charged the same rate as adults (except for children aged 0 to 3 who do not pay). All visitors above the age of 4 will pay the discounted online fee of €22.50.
So with that said, is the Barcelona Card Express worth it?
In our opinion, it is only a viable option if you’re flying in for a quick Barcelona weekend and looking at visiting the discounted attractions.
If not, it may be more convenient to see the city centre on foot and combine an itinerary with the Barcelona Bus Turistic.
Or alternatively, grab the Hola Barcelona Travel Card for 48 hours and purchase attractions tickets separately.
Hopefully, we’ve cleared up any questions you have concerning the Barcelona Card Express.
Do remember that if you’re going to purchase it, make sure to do it online as you’ll get a 10% discount from ticket window prices.
