14 years of Barcelona experience and not slowing down anytime soon!

I’ve seen the city through the eyes of a misguided, Sangria-filled tourist and a responsible local fluent in Spanish and everything Barcelona.

I co-founded Barcelona Hacks to help visitors discover the city with insider info – just try me! 🙂

Who am I?

Growing up in Vancouver, I was never much of a traveler – which seems hard to believe now.

I took my first trip overseas at 23 and remember having a mini panic attack on the Stansted Express into London watching all those red brick houses fly by. It was just so far away.

Two years later I was living in London.

Then I came to Spain.

I was teaching here and working on a blog on the side (called Abroadsided) when I met Pedro and we put our heads together to launch Barcelona Hacks to help English speaking travellers smash Barcelona!

What I like

  • Hockey has been a lifelong passion: and the Canucks a lifelong frustration
  • Playing Texas Hold’em (let’s compare starting ranges!) against drunk tourists
  • Silver stacking (and wishing I’d put it into crypto instead)
  • Muay thai boxing and padel are two new loves
  • Growing herbs on balconies cuz I don’t have a yard
  • Creative writing and screenplays
  • Website creation (I’ve got Vancouver and Rome sites too)
